Father's Day and Savannah

Father's Day my parents were visiting Eric and Chantil at their new house, so we all went to spend the weekend. It was so great to be together and enjoy their beautiful new home!
It was HOT and we decided to let the boys play in the sprinkler for a little bit. The adults tried to hide in the shade. There wasn't much of it!

The boys had a grand old time though running through the sprinkler, and I think the dogs even got close once or twice.

I set myself up with some comfortable shade so I could more closely monitor them
Pretty soon it looked like it was going to storm, so we cleaned up and went to watch the rain coming in on the upstairs porch.
Looks pretty ominous right?
Aunt Chantil and Eddie waiting for something to happen
The kids loved to run around on the porch and I LOVED it that I could sit and watch them.
Getting ready to take off

Bama made a cool fort and we set it up on the downstairs porch
Having a great time!
Cheese!
They suckered Bama and Gizmo into joining them! It was a full fort!
Hanging out in Uncle Eric's car
The fathers opening their Father's Day gifts
The boys playing around on the bed
Back home it was time to relax and read a book. I guess Nicolas thought this was a comfortable position to watch tv.
Big cheese!

All the boy getting settled for bedtime.
Eddie loves to play the computer and Nicolas loves to watch.
The weekend after Father's Day Eddie and I headed for Savannah for some down time. The weather was beautiful and HOT. We made it out to Tybee Beach and wandered around a little bit to enjoy the sand and water on our feet. We only had one day to see everything so we couldn't spend it sitting on the beach.
The water was so warm!!
Having lunch at the Crab Shack. It was a really cool restaurant that even had gators!
Really cool trees giving us shade
Gators!!!
"Where the elite eat in their bare feet"
Checking out Savannah
Eddie in front of Paula Deen's store which is next to her restaurant
Having a yummy and fun dinner at the Melting Pot
It was a great time! Thank you so much to Bama and Grandpa for allowing us a kid free weekend!!
Back home Grandpa and Little Eddie are reading together
This is what some mornings look like in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Good thing I don't need a lot of room.
And then we got adventurous and decided to take the kids bowling. It was a LOT of work and I'm sure none of us could be talked in to doing that again any time soon! Nicolas is CRAZY!!
Eddie had to check out what buttons Nicolas was pushing
We even got to bowl with bumpers and we will did horrible!

Swimming with Bama and Grandpa!

Our garden is producing some super food!! Good thing Eddie loves zucchini and cucumbers... We may have to start giving it away!! We picked 2 this size in just 2 days. And we have been having a great time with our visitors Bama and Grandpa! Nicolas loves to tell Grandpa stuff.
Everybody smile!
Bama is always playing in their room- blocks, cars, trains, whatever they want! It's exhausting just watching her.
Grandpa lets little Eddie play games on his computer, they love to play golf.
Bama and Nicolas checking out the garden and the birds
Eddie wrapped up his second week of swim lessons this week and I think Nicolas will be happy about that! He does get to play in the baby pool towards the end of the class, but the first half he has to sit and he isn't a big fan of that.
The kids get to end lessons in the baby pool and be crazy.
Bama and Nicolas taking in all the action. Nicolas loves to play with the big kids!
Eddie jumped right in and then they go on the special "tot dock" since they aren't tall enough to reach the bottom.
The second to last day and he FINALLY swam without assistance in his lifejacket!! He was very proud and so were we!
Last day doing some drills
Eddie and one of his swim buddies
Eddie swimming on his own!!!!
