Eddie has his first soccer game yesterday! They practice for 45 minutes, and then have a 45 minute game. He loves to practice (everyone gets a ball) but the game was rough for him. He ran off the field several times crying that he never gets the ball. Hopefully the next game will be smoother for him!
During practice he got to make a couple goals! He did great.

Nicolas was EXHAUSTED since soccer time and nap time are the same. He wanted to run up this hill and run back down it a hundred times. Oh yeah, and he didn't want me to go with him!! Don't worry, with the exception of the picture, I was holding his hand the whole time.

During the game, getting some encouragement from Coach Daddy

Nicolas finally fell asleep!!!

He finally gave up on the game. So did one of his other teammates.

High-fives for everyone after the game

Today we went out for a walk after dinner, and after we made it about 5 minutes down the road a truck stopped us and let us know there was a big bear just around the bend where we were headed. We thanked him and turned around to head home, and hopefully not run into the bear. We hung out in the driveway for about 10 minutes thinking we might see him come our way, and then decided we would get our camera, hop in the car, and go bear "hunting". After about 2 minutes, we found him!!!! He was grazing on a lawn right next to the road about 15 feet- perfect for picture taking!! He didn't pay us any attention and only looked up at us a couple times. Eddie honked the horn and made some noises, but it didn't care. We watched and took pictures for about 5 minutes- until it started grazing closer.
This was when we first found it, and this picture is NOT zoomed

A closer shot of Mr. Bear. Or Mrs. I don't know.

Look at those muscles!!!!

Starting to get a little closer

Too close for our comfort, see you later!!

We drove around "hunting" for about 30 minutes, but didn't find any more so we decided to go back and see if we could find him again. And we did!! Just down the road, he was headed off into the woods.

OMG! That's a big bear! Thank goodness you are safe and sound. Soccer practice is fun but during game time it's another story, everyone wants to kick the ball and a lot of running back and forth. I remember Robert at some of his games. Don't worry, between Daddy's encouragement and the more he practices/plays the better he'll get. Hopefully, I will get to see one of the games! See you real soon!
Love, BAMA/MAMA
Wow! That is a HUGE bear! You guys are brave to even go look for him in your car (Great pics though)!
I think it's sooo cool that Eddie's on a soccer team and that his Daddy coaches! I can't wait until Caleb gets to join a team! Looks like Nicholas is "conditioning" for tryouts sometime soon?
"Going in a Bear Hunt" is just a song - you don't need live it!
Hope Eddie starts to enjoy the games more and gets his foot on the ball a time or two.
