Disneyworld Part 2!

This time at Disney we decided to visit 2 other parks that we didn't see before! Our first morning we headed to Animal Kingdom to "have a wild time!" Right away we got on the safari ride. It was even hotter this visit, so even at 9am we were sweaty, hence Eddie's crazy hair! :)

Despite the heat we still enjoyed our trip.

We even got to ride in authentic safari jeeps!

We got to see all sorts of animals- like these 5 hippos cuddling in the water

And these bulls? with HUGE horns

These giraffes were SO close to the jeep I didn't even need to zoom my camera

We saw a rescued elephant- notice one tusk is missing. :(

And this rhino family. There is a baby one in the shade.

And if you look really close you will see a lion napping in the shade on the rocks

This ostrich walked directly in front of our jeep for a few minutes to make sure we knew he was in charge

Another one of the safari animals

Enjoying the scenery

Next up- the train ride!

Family on the train- watch out!

Once we arrived at the secret animal train ride place, they had really cool pictures all over the walls

And the boys got to brush the goats. I am NOT a fan of petting zoos, too much dirt and germs.

Next up it was time for a REAL ride- the water rapids! Nicolas was about 1 inch too short :( so we had to take turns going with Eddie. Meanwhile Nicolas made his own water fun. Did I mention it was HOT?

Daddy and Eddie coming our way on the rapids

There they are! Eddie loved it! And I love that I captured his happy face and waving.

All wet and cooled off after the rapids

It was time to eat but Nicolas was TOO tired, so he took a nice nap while we ate in peace. On a sidenote, the food was awesome! Never had a dissapointing meal at Disney.

Nicolas was still sleeping after lunch so we kept going to Dino Land

Eddie and Mommy on the dino ride.

When Nicolas finally woke up we stumbled upon Pooh and friends! Pooh is my favorite so I asked Eddie to take a pic with me and the boys. This is the only one he took. Ugh!

Eyeore!!

Tigger! He was so great with the kids.

And then we went to meet Mickey and friends. I guess Nicolas really, really loves Goofy.

Like, a lot

Too much maybe?

We gave up waiting for him to be done hugging Goofy and took the picture anyways

Still hugging

Ok Nicolas! Goofy needs to hug other kids too

Thanks Goofy, for making Nicolas feel like he was the only one :)

We met Mickey!!

Nicolas was very excited to see Thumper and friend.

Then we met Minnie! Eddie was happy to give her a hug

Nicolas' turn

On our way out of the Animal Kingdom, saying farewell to THE tree

Back at our hotel we decided to take a tour of the place. We had a movie theme hotel, so there were 5 sections. The section right next to us was the Toy Story theme!! Of course we were all excited, it's trully amazing. Here they are with RZ.

Getting ready to enter Andy's room

A really big Woody!
Whoa! Buzz! You see the boys way down by his feet?

Playing with some blocks

Next up, the 101 Dalmatians theme. The boys caught a funny flick with one of the puppies. Note that DADDY is the funny flick and also Nicolas is holding the puppy's ear.

Little Eddie decided to get in the tv and Nicolas is still holding the puppy's ear

Playing around with the puppy before heading back to our room.

On Saturday morning we gathered our stuff for the day and headed out on the road to see Eddie's Grandma and Grandpa! I had never seen their home before and it had been 2 years since we saw G-ma and G-pa so we were excited! Grandma immediately took us on a tour of their beautiful home. Nicolas was especially interested in her beany babies collection.

Nicolas and Grandma playing

Eddie and Grandpa playing with their new toys from Grandma

All the guys hanging out

The gang getting a shot before we head out

Of course you know we had to get an Eddie's picture, and since we were missing one Eddie, Grandma had a great idea of taking the picture in front of a picture of the 4 Eddie's. Great shot!

Nicolas was exhausted from a fun visit

Eddie was too!

When we got back we headed for the Magic Kingdom and right to Buzz's ride! Everybody loves Buzz!

It's FUN!

The kids were getting sassy so we sent them to jail with Zurg

Time for an awesome shot in front of the castle!

Since it was Saturday evening on Labor Day weekend, all the rides had crazy lines! We were killing an hour before our dinner reservations and decided to go on Aladin's magic carpet ride. It's just a kiddie ride that lasts 30 seconds, but we didn't ride it at all on our previous trip so we thought we would give it a go. Well, we waited like 30-45 minutes!!!! Agh!! Did I mention it was HOT there?? And Nicolas was NOT interested in standing around for that long. There was some screaming and attempted distraction, but we finally made it to the front. Hooray!

Finally on the ride!

Yay!

While waiting to eat we enjoyed beautiful scenery of the castle lit up at night

Saturday night we had reservations to eat at the Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom, complete with Pooh and friends!

After dinner it was time for the lighted parade!! Which, unfortunately, I have no pictures of. :( But soon after that it was time for fireworks! We were on our way out but it's so amazing you just HAVE to stop and watch! The theme is "when you wish upon a star" so here is the shooting star.

It's amazing to think they do this every single night!!

After a LONG day and excitement, everyone was exhausted. See Mickey?

Sunday it was time for Hollywood Studios! The good news is that we drove our own car to get there because as we got out to gather our stuff we realize, oops! No shoes for Nicolas! I had left them in the back the night before and Eddie had taken them out and forgotten when I asked to make sure they were still in there. Oh well, so I went in with the kids to get Fast Passes for the Toy Story ride and wander around. Wouldn't you know we ran into Lightning McQueen and Mator!! They are a tie for favorites with Toy Story.

Daddy wasn't gone too long so we decided to explore their awesome playground of Honey I Shrunk the Kids!

Now that we had Daddy we had to get another picture with McQueen and Mator. Luckily they were in the back of the park and there were no lines yet!

Then it was time to go on a tour of the backlot, where we got to see some cool stunts and movie props. This tanker caught on fire and there was like 41,000 gallons of water rushing through here!

It's Herbie!

The sign for Lights, Motors, Action! show that we saw later in the day.

And look who we ran in to! It's Sully and Mike! Very cool, and Nicolas was very happy to get to hold onto Mike's arm. He couldn't stop looking at him. :)

While we were there we HAD to eat at Pizza Planet! Yeah baby! Even though I told everyone we HAD to eat there, I wasn't sure I was in the mood for pizza, but it was really good! We didn't make it upstairs to the arcade :( since we had the stroller and a tired and cranky Nicolas.

After lunch it was finally time to use our Fast Passes to go on the Toy Story ride! The problem with Hollywood Studios is that they have only 3 real rides, so EVERYBODY rushes for them in the morning. Even with our passes, we still waited at least 30 minutes but the ride was really cool and interactive. The best part? The 3-D glasses of course!

As you could have guessed, Nicolas was not interested in wearing the glasses.

Finally on the ride and ready to play some games!

Watching some really awesome stunts at Lights, Motors, Action!

Then we watched Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse show! It wasn't the best, but the kids liked it and that's all that matters.

Sunday night we had reservations for dinner at the "dive in". It was a super fun restaurant where you sit in cars and watch old movies "outside" complete with stars.

The Eddie's sat in the backseat

Our car! Check out the people in the way backseat, thinking they were out of our picture. Dorks! ;)

Another exhausting day! And to think we even take a few hour break in the day to nap at the hotel. It's a lot of walking and did I mention HOT?!

Our last morning :( we were back at the Magic Kingdom and we got in before they even opened!! We had reservations for breakfast at the Crystal Palace again and got to walk in without the crowds and enjoy the scenery.

Having breakfast with Pooh and friends! This was right before we left, and Nicolas had eaten 2 bites the whole time. Of course he decided to eat when Pooh was there and was reaching for food as I was trying to take pictures.

After breakfast we headed for a few of our favorite rides! Right before we had to leave we stopped at the Speedway for our last ride. The boys LOVE to be able to drive Mommy and Daddy around.
I got to ride with Eddie this time and he was an excellent driver! He had a huge smile on his face the whole time.
He was great, but there were a few hairy moments!
Daddy got to ride with Nicolas- what, you don't see Nicolas? Maybe that's why Daddy looks very nervous...
Glad to be back safely.
On our way out of the park, all decorated for fall, we bid farewell yet again. It was another wonderful trip!
P.S. I have to add that I realize I have my sunglasses on in almost all pictures, and I know it's tacky but I have really sensitive eyes and they are also prescription so I can SEE. :) In case you were wondering.

Great report! I'm amazed that Nicolas will go along with the stuffed people, even HUG all over them! I guess he's seen them enough now! You guys really buzz around the whole place, great idea to cut the day to cool off and rest! Fireworks pix are terrific! Extra nice that you went to visit the great grandparents!
